What is Brentwood Blast?

The Brentwood Blast program was created in 2002 based on the desire of League members that expressed a desire for a more competitive baseball experience for a longer period of time. Team members, both players and coaches, are expected to put forth considerable time, effort and commitment beyond that for a typical regular season. Participants will be rewarded with more frequent playing opportunities under more challenging circumstances with more extensive coaching and training.

Coaches, like Blast players, are expected to make an extra commitment in time and effort. While upholding the highest standards of the league’s code of conduct, Blast coaches must learn and then practice first class leadership and baseball coaching skills. The reward is to bring the best out of our players while representing Brentwood PONY Baseball League throughout Contra Costa County and occassionally in other counties as well.

In 2010, the Blast program will field 9 teams across the PONY divisions of Mustang, Bronco and Pony (including 3 Lady Blast girls softball teams). Teams typically play in a PONY interlock league with other PONY organizations in Contra Costa County. Games are played locally in Brentwood and at these other PONY cities. Blast teams will also play in USSSA and Nation's Baseball tournaments throughout the year culminating with its goal of representing BPBL in the PONY World Series in July.
